Walker Kessler, Brandon Miller and Jabari Smith Jr. have been chosen for the 2024 Panini Rising Stars event during the NBA All-Star Weekend.

A former Alabama standout, Miller is a rookie forward for the Charlotte Hornets. Second-year players from Auburn, Kessler is a center for the Utah Jazz and Smith a forward for the Houston Rockets. Kessler and Smith played in the Rising Stars games last season, too.

The Panini Rising Stars will be played at 8 p.m. CST Feb. 16 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. TNT will televise the event.

The NBA announced the 28 participating players on Tuesday. The lineup includes 11 NBA rookies, 10 second-year players and seven NBA G League prospects.

The 21 NBA players will be drafted onto three teams by head coaches Tamika Catchings, Paul Gasol and Jalen Rose. The G League players will form the fourth team and be coached by Detlef Schrempf.

The teams will compete in a three-game tournament, with the semifinal games going to the first team to reach 40 points and the championship contest set for a first-to-25 winner.

NBA assistant coaches chose the 21 NBA players. The seven NBA G League players were selected by the NBA.

The second player picked in the 2023 NBA Draft, Miller has averaged 15.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 39 games for the Hornets this season. Miller tied his career high on Monday night with 29 points in a 113-92 loss to the New York Knicks.

Kessler has averaged 8.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 blocked shots in 40 games for the Jazz this season.

Smith has averaged 13.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 41 games for the Rockets this season.
